Mooncakes :)

Having gone back to work, I have not been updating my blog as often as I want to.
With the coming Mid Autumn Festival just around the corner, I have no excuses anymore. I have added new flavors and colors to my pingpeh mooncake.
The new flavor is :
Rose/banana flavor comes with natural blue colour, from the blue flower called 'bunga terang'.
All nyonyas use this blue flower for the colour of 'kaya kuih', pulut inti and even the nyonya dumpling.

Mooncake paste available :
  • Green tea
  • Dragon fruit
  • Normal Lotus
  • White Lotus
  • Coffee
  • Chocolate
  • Red Bean
  • Dau Yong (Flavour found in Ang Ku Kuih)
The mooncake is available for both baked and snow skin,
Choices for Snow Skin:
  • Lychee
  • Rose/banana
  • Pandan
Here's some all time favourite hot stuff, Lychee snow skin goes well with dragonfruit paste,
and Rose/banana snow skin goes well with chocolate or white lotus paste.

And here's some review to tickle your taste buds !

August Moon Festival

In Chinese history, mooncakes play an important role in August Moon gatherings and gift giving. These palm-sized round cakes symbolize family unity and perfection. Some mooncakes have a golden yellow egg yoke in the center which looks like a bright moon. So here are my piece of work for this awesome festive season.
